Have you tested this on 4.2.c?
I could never get the sharepoint functionality to work with the SSL that is laid out in the wiki page for implementing it. I ended up just using apache for that (on linux server).

I have another user in the office that has Windows 8 and he's able to access sharepoint on his machine. Mind you we are using 4.2.c.

I originally made the move to 4.2d because I was having problems with the Edit Online button not functioning. A bunch of the posts I had seen indicated that this functionality was fixed on the d release. On some level it is, when I had 4.2c, Edit Online didn't do anything, now, it's invoking the Office program, but something is getting lost in the authentication piece.

Additional testing shows the same problem on Windows 7 with Office 2013 as well. The application launches, prompts for authentication 3 times before indicating that the file cannot be found.

Are you using SSL connection or just the regular non encrypted connection?

There is another contributor in the community that has created a amp file for the 4.2.c fix from HERE I know that you are using the nightly build. So it may or may not work.

Also when opening from M$ office I believe the documentation says to put in
