Hi,

im currently evaluating Alfrescos Records Management module as a document repository for our corporate users. In particular im looking to enforce our parent companies record retention policy which requires document destruction after a defined period.

Ive managed to model the basic workflow using disposition schedules and custom events but im falling down at the last step which is the destruction. I cant seem to get the system to destroy the records. The system shows them as ready for destruction but stops there. A previous post states that the system doesn't provide that functionality "out of the box" and would require customization. So the question is …. what options are available to achieve this? I assume theres a scripting interface/API that I can call to do this, or maybe even an internal scheduler that I can configure? A gentle nudge in the right direction would be greatly appreciated to speed up my initial evaluation.

Im running this on a Windows 2008 R2 system.

Regards

Joe

Destroy is a Manual Action which needs to be acted upon by either the owner of the records or the Records Admin. Once this manual action is completed the records will be destroyed and will not be recoverable.

This functionality is available out of the box and is a manual process.
The customization you might have read in earlier posts would have been for automated destruction of records post retention period.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Vijay Velu.
