By the way (I am working with Carlos on this also) we just run a jarsigned -verify over the jar and found that the jar has been signed with a certificate whose "NetscapeCertType extension doesn't allow code signin". Could this be related?

We are signing the jars with a server certificate from symantec we already have. Do you think this might be a problem??

Hi

Yes we found the solution. You need to buy a certificate to sign you applet code now in Java 7. We bought one in https://cheapsslsecurity.com/.
It is much cheaper than VerySign, however process is a little bit slow.

You need to buy this certificate for code signing and then sign your code before using it in Java7.
