This is caused by the wrong imported database, you should have a wrong encoding of the database values.

When you import the database in the restored Alfresco you should add in the command the instruction for selecting UTF-8 as the main encoding, for example in MySQL is the following:


mysql -u yourDatabaseUser -p -h localhost –default-character-set=utf8 yourDatabaseName < alfresco.sql
