Hi cperez,

There are many things that can go wrong in a restore.

You might want to check the permissions on the alf_data directory. Also, when backing up Alfresco you'll need to follow the backup procedures described in here: http://docs.alfresco.com/3.4/concepts/backup-intro.html
Make sure you follow the instruction in the same order (specially for hot backups).

What you have described should work. So it's the detail of a step that's wrong. Or something you have not described.

P.S there was no need to change the file below web inf. dont want to see that being done.

I change it to a previously backup and with the same steps i used works.

Maybe there was a error in some file.
