Hi,

there is an addons that can be used to export a folder preserving the folder structure and the metadata (metadata are saved in a separate xml).

I have never used it to export a site, but it should be ok.

Just copy the content out via a filesystem protocol like ftp. You won't have any metadata or security, if you need that then reconsider.
