topic Edit Offline Without Download in Alfresco Archive

This is my first post, so please be gentle.

In Share, normally clicking "Edit Offline" locks the file for editing and then subsequently downloads the file; Makes sense. I'm wondering if there is a way to lock the file for editing - without downloading. The reason I'm asking this seemingly odd question is that I'm using AlfrescoSync to edit files. In doing this, the files are already downloaded, so there's no need to re-download files that go directly into my "Downloads" folder and simply collect dust.

I'm not looking to turn off the subsequent download for all files in the system - or even edit the user interface for that matter. My attempt was putting a rule in the folder that any file with "locked" as a tag becomes locked…without success. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
eShinn
