If you unzip that AMP (AMPs are just zip files with an .amp extension) you will find a file called module.properties. In that file you will see properties called module.repo.version.min and module.repo.version.max. That is what tells the Module Management Tool (MMT) the minimum and maximum version of Alfresco the AMP can be installed in.

You can change those versions, re-zip the AMP, and then re-install it. But, obviously, the original developer may have intentionally set those so do so at your own risk.

If you find that you can make the module work on the newer version of Alfresco, you might offer to contribute your changes back to the original developer as a contribution.

Jeff
