Alfresco explorer is not running and showing HTTP Status 404 - /alfresco/ error where as share application is accessible and able to login. It is not even showing any error in the log files. I got the alfresco instance running in the linux (Production) environment and i am trying to configure it in windows 7 machine. I have successfully changed all the properties in alfresco-global.properties file and created a database and everything is fine. Tomcat is starting with out any errors and all the tables are creating on startup. But failing to access alfresco UI. I spent almost 4 days on figuring it out but with no success. Could any one please help me in solving this issue

Are you sure your instance of Alfresco Share is not connecting to your production instance? Share can't work if the repo (alfresco webapp) fails to start.

If alfresco fails to start there should be information in the log file.

Sometimes there's a very early failure such that logging never gets started - for example if there are duff parameters on the java command line. However if you get as far as a running tomcat there should be information. You need that to work out what's going wrong.
