When you say existing repository - <strong> its not only the database</strong>. You should also point your dir.root=

<path to old location>‍

OR copy the old contents to a new location and then point dir.root to this.

If you are transporting all your data fro PHPBB then having them in the same database is no trouble at all. I didn't have to have them in the same database.
