Hi,I have set up rules to automatically link documents in a folder to a category when the item is created in the folder. I have uploaded 5 files, checked the file properties and find that it is indeed linked to the category, however when i click on the category in Document Library view I get a no it

I cannot replicate this on 4.2.d running on Mac OS X with MySQL and Solr.

If you go to:

Does the "Count of acl transactions in the index but not the DB" say "0"?

Thanks for your input, it turns out that the temp that set this up forgot to include LibreOffice in the installation options. I got hat set up and the previews are working now.

On a related note do you know of any issue with IE8 on windows xp or server 2008 that would prevent the categories, tags and document tree from displaying in 4.2d share? Also we found that while using IE8 we are unable to create folders or documents from templates or view the properties for a folder.

I don't know of anything off the top of my head. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) I do not have an environment such that I can try to recreate that IE8 problem for you.

You might try creating a new topic specifically for this issue with a subject like, "Problems with Alfresco Share and IE8" or somesuch. You should also search http://issues.alfresco.com to see if anything similar has already been reported.

The only problems I had with IE8 were on a 4.1 version with the IE compatibility mode enabled.
Because then Alfresco has some "if IE < 8" fixes in javascript that get triggered because of the compatibility mode but that wont't work with the real IE8 script engine that is there.

Do you have anything in the developer console?
