Is it possible to create form in Alfresco Community Edition 5.0.c without using IDE. Like previously i had been instructed in this forum only of creating form by using Eclipse. But now the requirement is to create form without using IDE. How can I achieve that. Please explain the steps to me. Also I read about 'control manager' section available in 5.1 version which helps in form creation. Is there any such sections in 5.0.c which can help me creating a form without using an IDE? Also I'm working in Windows 7 environment and using apache tomcat 7 as my server.

Hi ujjainee sarkar

You'll need to move up to 5.1 if you want to get that capability out of the box, it's not in 5.0.

If you need a solution for 5.0 and can't upgrade, I'd suggest having a look at http://addons.alfresco.com as there are a number of community contributed as well as commercially supported options available there which may fill this gap. I have not used any of these solutions myself so can't comment on how well they work or suggest any of them specifically.

The other thing to bear in mind is that a number of these solutions use their own mechanisms for creating and storing forms which is not consistent with the way that Alfresco stores its own forms. This means that if you do upgrade to 5.1 in the future and want to use the out of the box features instead of an addon, you may need to rework all the forms you create

Regards

Steven
