I'm trying to map alfresco on a windows network drive but it doesn't work as expected.I have done this stepostgress and Tomcat started.Map Network Drive(the wizard starts)I chose Z:and i fill the text box with "http://localhost:8080/alfresco" i check "connect with different credentials"Insert my A

Have you tried enabling CIFS after setting this properties

cifs.enabled=true

cifs.serverName="Alfresco"

cifs.hostannounce=true

in you alfresco-global.properties?

Please look at either ftp, cifs, nfs or webdav documentation. Randomly trying http URLs is not going to work.

I've enabled CIFS and now i can enter into each folder but they are all empty while in Alfresco there are documents. The system also return to the home dir Z: after a while when i enter in a sub folder of Z:.
I've tried WebDAV without good results because of its need to be manually synchronized.
I've tried even FTP with FileZilla but it doesn't solve my issue properly because i've to upload file manually.

I need to have a folder that looks like a normal drive so the users can manage it and its contents just like a normal Windows' drive with the advantage of having new documents and updates uploaded in real time in Alfresco.
I'd also like that documents inherit the permissions declared through Alfresco.

Is it possible?

I have difficulty understanding your questions:

In particular you should see files over CIFS.   What "empty" folders are you looking at?   Also the second sentence makes little sense.

What do you mean for WebDav "without good results because of its need to be manually synchronized."    What synchronization is required and why?

What do you mean for FTP "properly because i've to upload file manually."   Is this the same "empty folders"? as above.

Hello, thanks for reading and answer me but i've just solved a part of my problem.

I was able to map Alfresco's repository on a Network Drive with Admin credentials, i can see my directories and manage contents inside of them. I've tried to modify a .doc with an user with customer role declared on Alfresco and the system haven't allowed me to upload the updated file.
That was great. But now i'm experienced another problem.
Nothing happen in alfresco when i delete a file from the network drive. The folder will persist in alfresco and, when i refresh windows directory the file appears again.

Do you have any explanation for that?

I am having the same issue. I am testing on alfresco 5.0.d. Do a basic setup and add the cifs properties in alfresco-global.properties file. I can successful map \\192.168.1.221:8080\alfresco. But when I click on the Sites folder, the directory shows empty.
I tried to connect with webdav, I could see the folders inside Sites but all the files that I upload is locked.
Can anyone help me with the above issue ?
