Try starting with Alfresco documentation (link in my signature). I would also browse the Wiki (wiki.alfresco.com) and the Forums for what you need to know .

We have a great community here, if you get stuck feel free to ask for help here on the forum!

aevans713 thanks for the reply :-). As I said I am new user of Alfresco and I'd bother your forum a little bit more..hehe It's something new for me as I have never used a application like yours. So..I would like to know how to install it and "editing" the code (except log in,create site..I leave this part for later). Yeap I know that it sounds weird,about editing code,but what can I do? I got project about this.
I have to see how it "plays" and what small changes I could do into the code,as it's open source…without that means that changes being permanent.
Please can you tell me what programming language alfresco uses?
Because I made a quick search on google and didn't find tutorials (except log in) or I find some help-guides but they were generally…I would like to ask for your help, to be able to finish my project successfully.

Alfresco is written in Java. We have a lot of talented engineers and programmers here in the forum, perhaps you should check out the Development forums. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of experience actually writing code in Alfresco.

This wiki article (http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Developer_Guide) may help out as a starting point, it has a lot of information on how to edit code, has SDK downloads, and other info.
