Hi,Is anyone aware of any way to disable content conversions / indexing for specific nodes or preferably a folder and all nodes within it?Thanks in advanceGarry

Hi Gary, Yes, you can control specific content/node indexing by this aspect - cm:indexControl.
It has two property to enable/disable full text and property indexing . You can check in detail - http://docs.alfresco.com/4.0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.alfresco.enterprise.doc%2Fconcepts%2Fadmin-indexes.html

And yes, which version you are using, I think its available from 4.0! You may confirm that.

Thanks for such a quick response Niketa,

We are currently using 4.0.d.

As well as stopping the indexing is it possible to prevent thumbnails and previews being generated?

Yes, In newer version several options are available for content transformation and also for thumbnail. You can disable repository level as well for specific mimetype. You can also limit it by content size
