I'm curious to know if share can be configured to implement two things. The first thing I'm interested in is to allow a user to save and name a specific query that they've executed previously in advanced search. i.e. if there are index items A, B, and C. and they chose to do advanced search search f

Have you tried the "Saved Search" dashlet? It allows you to configure a search and the results are automatically displayed in the dashlet. You can add multiple instances to a dashboard (not quite what you're after I know, but relatively close). Also - it's possible to configure custom forms for the Advanced Search… again, not quite what you're after but might get you close to what you want relatively easily.

Thanks, Yeah, I'm aware of these two features- not quite what I am hoping for- looking for a little bit more control. It seems like two features a number of customers would be interested in. I'm assuming people have implemented these things before.
