ANS:No, It is not like that /alfresco is one of the User Interface provided by alfresco to access its repository./Share is another User Interface built on top core repository which along with normal repository gives collaboration features.All users can access both interfaces

Thank you so much for clearing that up! /alfresco and /share still confuse me at times. However, it won't be a problem if I start making workflow with Explorer first, right?

Here is the best way to look at it. Alfresco Explorer (/alfresco) is the old web client and the application that runs the repository and its sub-systems. The old web client and the repository are in the same web application at the current time, unfortunately. You shouldn't really use the old web client for anything if you can help it. For many years, /alfresco was the only web interface.

Alfresco Share (/share) is the more modern web client and the one that is being actively developed. This is the one your end-users should be using. And if you need to make customizations to the interface, this is the one you should customize.

As Mits said, your users can log in to either one. Administration can be performed using either client. Whether or not someone can perform an administrative function has to do with their role, not the user interface they use.

Owh, Thank you so much!!
So, assuming now that my laptop is the server, and the server is running, other users+admin without Alfresco installed in their machine can still access to Alfresco (either web application) by configuring to my laptop, correct?
I got a bit confused after reading the Share VS Explorer thread, thinking that Explorer can be accessed on the server only, while /Share is for others.

Alfresco is a web application, you can have one server which is running alfresco and for the clients accessing your alfresco repository do not need to have alfresco installed on their machines.
Any user can access both /alfresco and /share. Jeff and Mits have explained you about both the user interfaces in very good detail.

We have downloaded the Alfresco community version :
[alfresco-community-4.2.e-installer-win-x32.exe]
Respective AMP file for Record Management : [alfresco-rm-2.1.0-621.amp
& alfresco-rm-share-2.1.0-621.amp]

After installing the Community and AMP files the alfresco folder and
share folder aren't created inside webapps folder.
Kindly advice us the correct AMP file version for the record
Management to install for the community version :
[alfresco-community-4.2.e-installer-win-x32.exe], so that we can use
Record Management to create new sites.

We need some clarifications on Alfresco One Bulk Import tool; have
installed Alfresco One [alfresco-enterprise-4.2.3.1-installer-win-x64]
and configured Record Management [amps -
alfresco-rm-server-2.2.0-1086.amp - amps_share -
alfresco-rm-share-2.2.0-1086.amp].

Step followed as below:

1. Created a new Record management Site.

2. Created a file plan, also created a folder inside the file plan.

3. Normally uploaded the file using the Import button which was successful.

Uploading files into the Repository using Bulk Import tool is
successful but while uploading files into Record Management using the
Bulk Import Tool we found an error : *Web Script Status 400 - Bad Request*.

Kindly check the attached screenshot of the Bulk Import Error for
Record Management and guide us to move forward by uploading files
using Bulk Import tool in the Record Management.

How do we add the additional attributes to the user profile in version 5. The solutions i found were of all previous version and i am not sure if it applies to the current version 5.
I am pretty new to alfresco, so descriptive answer would be helpful.
