Can anybody suggest some good Document Management System book that can emphasize the arhitecture of a DMS, the lifecycle of documents, index, version control and records? The first few chapters of "Professional Alfresco" cover a lot of this material, though not in as much depth as you would probably like.

Some of the examples of Share customization are a bit dated, but the architectural overview and history of ECM still apply.

I learned a lot about Records Management and document life-cycles reading Dick Weisenger's book:

The Alfresco RM Module has evolved significantly since that book was published, but I think it is still very useful.

Alfresco gives away some chapters from both of these book, though I'm not sure which ones.

The training material related to their Information Professional Certification looks like what you are interested in. Especially the ebook.

Thank you verry much, by the time i got this comment from you i already covered this topics. It's pretty funny because i got what i need in the same order you suggested in this post. But also fromm wiki.alfresco. I didn't know about aiim, i will check it out! Thanks again!
Now i'm struggling on the Security of Electronic documents. Got to cover some aspects like security policy, autentification mechanism, access control and mechanisms of ensuring the authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of documents.
