When trying to log on to Alfresco Share or when you are trying to log on to Alfresco Workdesk? To me it sounds more you are working with Alfresco Share only and you posted your question in the wrong topic. Nevertheless, I can think of one problem here.

Are you using your LDAP authentication system and the LDAP users to log in to Alfresco. If yes, is the LDAP system running on the same server machine as Alfresco? Did you also restart the LDAP system after you restarted the server? Which Alfresco version is affected exactly?

When calling http://YOURSERVER:YOURPORT/alfresco/service/cmis/index.html you should be able to find the exact product version under CMIS Repository Information.
