Hello All,

We have a enterprise Alfresco ECM (version 4.0.2) in our organization and currently we backup the database, indexes and the content store only once in a week. Currently we are using the cold back up procedure to do the backups. Since our content store is very large (600GB) we can't do physical backups each and every day. Is there any recommended way to do the daily backups of content store of the size mentioned? Hows does replication works or can we use DFS procedure or how can we use the hot backup procedure without impacting the system perfromance. We would want the system down-time to be minimal as possible and we should able to do the daily backups. Please advise/provide your thoughts around this.

Regards
Karthick

Hi Rogers,

Thanks for your quick reply. We did thought about it and what are the ways of doing a incremental backup. Is there any tools and techniques that we can use to do that?

Thanks
Karthick

The content store is arranged by date to make incremental backup easy. So you could do say a full backup once a week then a more frequent incremental backup of [say] files that have been added that week, or since the last successful incremental backup. I'm sure someone out there can give you some scripts.

Sorry if it is exhaustive, would you be able to recommend couple of incremental backup software that can do the job? (would like to what majority of the Alfresco community are using)

Thanks
