How to create a simple page in share?

What the author created seems like a new <strong>component</strong>, not a new <strong>page</strong>. <a href="https://forums.alfresco.com/users/zladuric">This</a> author shows a different way, <a href="http://zlayer.net/blog/?p=247">step-by-step</a>, showing where to put files, how to create a page. </blatant-self-promotion>.

Just wanted to clarify a few things… The original Blog post that Sun Quanbin posted the question on relates to the approach that Alfresco will be taking for creating new pages in Share from now on (e.g. post 4.2 Enterprise). However, the capabilities described are available for use in the recently 4.2d Community release and will be available for use in the forthcoming 4.2 Enterprise release. What Sun Quanbin is actually asking is how to create "legacy" style pages using a combination of Surf Page, Template and Component objects where Components are bound to WebScripts. This is the approach that is used on all pages in Share currently.

Zlatko's post looks like an excellent tutorial for getting a simple page together and in reality that is all you need to know about creating pages (there are plenty of examples in the source that you can use as references as well) and does provide all the necessary information on where to place files.

Hi,

I am very new to Alfresco so I may not fully understand your words. My goal is to add a custom page that one can access via a URL. I am not sure whether the blog is the correct tutorial for my goal as you stated it as "legacy" style…

Regarding to Zlatko's post, would you please be more specific?
