It seems that the way to create themes for Alfresco has changed.

I created a new themes directory (myTheme), copied one of the existing theme directoryies and folders into this, changed the presentation.css and yui/assets/skin.css to change the theme name to myTheme.

After restarting the server, this new theme is not available in the application themes list.

I'm pretty sure in realier versions there were more files to change and an XML file to update with the theme, but I could be wrong.

Can anybody tell me the correct way to create a new theme for 4.2 as the docs seem to be incorrect.

Regards

Steve

We haven't changed the way that themes are defined. From your description it looks like you haven't created a new theme configuration file under "share\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\site-data\themes" ?

I'm not sure how many releases you're going back to, but as far as I'm aware its never changed since Share has been based on Spring Surf (so going back to at least 3.4). In answer to your other question, the answer is unfortunately, no. The module deployment code doesn't look at all Surf objects so it wouldn't be possible to dynamically add a theme by deploying a module. You could package new themes up in a JAR but you would need to restart the server for them to be picked up.
