Your proxy is forbidding access to artifacts.alfresco.com

Thanks for your response!
I can access the URL via browser and also able to ping it.
Also, I have turned off windows firewall.
But, the issue is still there.

Is there anything else which might prevent it to connect to URL/artifacts.

Maybe you are behind a proxy. Try to set parameters in maven (http://maven.apache.org/guides/mini/guide-proxies.html)
