Rather than constantly restarting the server, I'd recommend that you a browser tool such as Firebug to dynamically update the CSS to create and update selector rules and then apply them into the associated files once you're satisfied with the changes. In terms of actual files, the main CSS file for the calendar can be found in /Slingshot/source/web/jquery/fullcalendar/fullcalendar.css and each (Alfresco Share) theme will have a presentation.css file found in <app-server>/webapps/share/themes/<theme-name>

I am not a particularly expert in CSS or Java and managed to personalise most of what I need. However I have a couple of really simple issues that I am sure that someone will immediately point me to the correct YUI or CSS file to change.I am using Alfresco Community on a Windows based installation.

I am more of a consultant than developer (mainly due to the current economic circumstances) and would normally have a specialist onboard.

I appreciate the pointers to the relevant files, I have spent hours trawling through CSS files and they are scattered all over the place.

I shall look into Firebug as this is not something I would normally be aware of - that's why we employ developers!!! Unfortunately the clients want to pay the minimum now.

Any help on the css files for the groups/users display would be helpful. I'd be happy with luminous lime green at the moment, at least I would know which bit affects what!

Thanks tho 🙂

Also, you don't need to restart tomcat all the time just to refresh CSS, I think.

1. Go to http://yourinstallation/share/page/index
2. Click on "Clear dependency caches"
3. Empty Firefox/Chrome/Explorer cache.

As for which rules, Chrome helps me a lot there.

Right click on the element you need to know about, click "Inspect element" - it opens up raw html down there in Chrome console. And on the right side, the entire CSS tree is shown - why is the text blue, which css rule makes the background white, in what file etc. Very helpful to me. Hopefully to you too.

Depending upon what version of Alfresco you're using, the clear dependency caches button might not be available in your WebScripts home page (which will also indicate how aggressively Surf is caching your CSS files). If that button is not there, then simply clearing your browser cache should be sufficient.
