HTTP Status 404 Error at First Installation

Hi everyone. I am new at alfresco and i must install and develop alfresco for my workplace. To do this i install Alfresco 4.2.f for my Windows 7 first. I do everything must done but when i want to open share or alfresco page i take HTTP Status 404 error and i cannot initiate. I search all topics abo

I have read in other forum posts from the Alfresco guru's that installing Alfresco on Win 7 is not something you want to do. Do you have a virtual environment? Maybe a window's server that you could install on?

Hi,
please check you can connect to PostgreSQL DB and that all tables have been created, using PGAdmin.
Personally I have a 4.2.f installation on my laptop running on Win7 with PostgreSQL without problems.

Hi Andrea.
Thanks for tip. I install pgAdmin III and connect postresql db. When i refresh something goes wrong at connection as you can see at adsız2.png. Then when i click on postgres a hint appear as see at adsız1.png and connect.

What can i do next. Can you inform me please. I send the images of pgAdmin.

Well all tables seem to be there.
Try a fresh reinstall in advanced mode, paying attention to use JDK 1.7 and PostgreSQL DB.

Hi,

These errors generally comes when DB is not available, means Alfresco is trying to connect with Database, and its not able to connect, may be because Database is down.

Go to C:\Alfresco(your installation directory) and execute this executable file : <strong>manager-windows.exe</strong>. this will open a new window, from here you can start or stop Alfresco and Postgres. Make sure Postgres status is running, before you start Tomcat Server.

Give this a try it should work.

Hi,

I already check the manager-windows.exe file and tomcat and postgresql are running. Sometimes tomcat is appeared as stopped but postges never stops. Now i try to start them again but i can't start both of them. Program says starting but it turns to stopped again. What can i do?

Hi everyone,
I reinstall alfresco 4.2.f with severel changes, i.e. i changed tomcat server to 8086, controlled tables from pgAdmin, installed from advanced user, reinstall java 7 etc. But i can't find any solution.
I saw system role is superuser, alfesco and postgres role are nosuperuser at pgAdmin. Is this a problem?

I also install trial version with different ports, ftps etc. But i get same error.

I want to ask you that, i saw at the tomcat folder, alfresco folder isn't in the ROOT folder. I read somewhere that at apache tomcat, the server files must be in ROOT folder. When i copy that folder at ROOT folder, i get HTTP 500 error and errors caused by java.

What can i do? Can anyone help me please. Especially from tech community.

An old thread but, you are trying to install and run Alfresco on Windows that has an unsupported system language (Türkçe). Try English Win7
