Am I able to define retention at the level of a folder instead of the category in my File Plan? I have records within the same category but with different retention.

Disposition schedules can only be applied to categories, but a category can have category below it, so if you wanted a single top level category to contain records subjected to different schedules, then you could model that as:

-Top Category

- sub category 1 <- disposition schedule here

- folder 1

- sub category 2 <- different schedule here

- folder 2
