I'm trying to deploy Alfresco Community Edition 2.1 WAR file in Apache Tomcat 5.5.23. Hi,
if it is not a tight requirement, I would suggest you to install the latest community version 4.2.e
Also you might use the installer in order to avoid potential issues.

Thank you for your answer. Sadly it is a requirement because I'm carring on an application migration from one server to another. The applications migrated were developed using Alfresco API from that version.
