    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;thnx for the answer but i have some additional questions:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1. when u say "restore the db" u mean dont touch the generated postgres folder in dir.root (c:/alfresco/alf_data/postgres) and use the vendors database tool to restore the exported "alfresco.backup" file from the old server?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2. i recognized that in the database there are some entries pointed to the old server IP. will this have some side effects?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3. (sorry for that) how do i stop the indexing? (u mean by editing an entry within the alfresco-global.properties file)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;4. can u tell me about what happens when i use new generated passwords for the database and keystore at the new installed server?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please follow the following steps&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;PRE class="language-none line-numbers"&gt;&lt;CODE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;At the exsiting server:- &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Disable indexing in the present system, stop and start stop, &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Take backup of Alfresco installation DIR&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Take backup of DB&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;At the new server :- &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Restore the DB&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; Install the new alfresco installation (imp:-do not start the service) &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; copy the alf_dir of the old instance&amp;nbsp; directory to the new inststallation directory (Please copy only 2 directory named "contentstore"&amp;nbsp; and&amp;nbsp; "contentstore.deleted") (Do not copy other directory)&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; start the new alfresco instance &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You have now upgraded the instance without indexing &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; enable indexing at alfresc-global.properties &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp; restart the service &lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; You have a upgraded system with solr indexing enabled&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;SPAN class="line-numbers-rows"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/CODE&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I think you want to have two different tasks.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;First Upgrading then migration.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Do you want to migrate all the customization and content in to the new system?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In Upgradation you will deploy all the customization in to the new server and make sure everything is working properly.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Then you will have to transfer all your contents by migrating your alf_store and database&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
