Hello,

you need to have the correct fonts installed that are capable of rendering chinese characters in LibreOffice. Take a look at <a href="http://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=37312">OpenOffice forum thread</a> about probably the same issue. For Ubuntu, there is a <a href="https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fonts">nice wiki article</a> about fonts and how to install them.

I copied the files "simhei.tff" and "simsun.ttc" to /opt/bitnami/libreoffice/share/fonts/truetype and after the font cache was refreshed (restart) it works like a charm.
