Hi,

Just thought I'd note we are having exactly the same problem.

Apache Proxy + Alfresco + Ubuntu 10.04

Our rewrite rules:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^/share/proxy/(.*) /share/page/proxy/$1 [QSA,PT]

<Proxy *>
  Order deny,allow
  Allow from all
</Proxy>

ProxyRequests Off
ProxyPass / http://192.168.x.x:8080/
ProxyPassReverse / http://192.168.x.x:8080/‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

The error that is returned on the mobile app:

The server returned an error connecting to URL: http://192.168.x.x:8080/alfresco/service/cmis/workspace/blahblahblah, the request times out.‍

Looking into this issue today/tomorrow, but would be good if anyone had any pointers?

Seems to be a bug or a setting that needs a better default value - could you raise in JIRA please? We have an "Alfresco iOS" project you can log it under.

Looking in https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/secure/BrowseProjects.jspa#all , I'm unable to see an Alfresco IOS project to log the issue under.

Did you see the update on the JIRA issue?

What might be happening is that the server is returning URL's in the atom entries with port 8080, but the app is configured to use port 80. The app uses the full URLs that are generated by the server and only construct URLs for specific cases.

i.e. it might be your Apache proxy settings not fully proxying the return URLs. Maybe you could post a bit more config info about that?

Hi,

The JIRA reply got lost in my mail forwarding rules, I just saw it today.

I'm going to take a closer look at the data going through the proxy to see if Apache should be doing the URL rewrite at that point, or if Alfresco should be parsing the correct dns name instead.

Can you recommend what more info I can provide to help? I've got the rewrite rules as posted earlier, not sure what other configuration to list here.

This turned out to be a configuration issue with the repository.

The bug associated with this post got moved to https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/MOBILE-42 please refer to the comments on the JIRA issue for details of solution.

We have the exact same problem as described in JIRA MOBILE-42 but we don't find the file spring-webscripts-config-custom.xml. Do we have to create it ? Or am I blind ?

We have a similar problem with an Alfresco server (3.4 version) behind a BlueCoat reverse-proxy.
Everything works fine for months, but when we use Alfresco App 1.2.1.32 on ipad on iOS 5.0.1, it is possible to get the activities and to browse the sites, but it is always inpossible to get a document.
After strong investigations and looking at the packets between Alfresco/reverse-proxy and ipad, we discovered that the Alfresco App seems to deal properly with SSL for most request EXCEPT when it tries to reach a document where the request is not crypted.
Consequently, the document request is not accepted by the reverse-proxy (whose role is to reject all improper or suspicious requests).

So, it seems that there's no way to get a document on the mobile if your Alfresco is behind a proxy-server, until next release of Mobile Alfresco App.

Could I ask you to raise an issue in JIRA and add as much information as you can on your environment, configuration of the reverse proxy etc. and we will strive to address this in the next release.

I have my own Ubuntu server running Alfresco 5. I have a domain URL that has its A record set the IP of the server.
What is the HOSTNAME setting value? Is it something I have to setup on the Server that's running my Alfresco app?
I would really like to use Alfresco mobile, but I'm stuck on the setup.

1/27/2016 4:04 PM - Fixed it with a reverse proxy. Found an article titled Alfresco Mobile: Change external alfresco url behind proxy. Followed the instructions and it worked. This was posted on the web Oct 24, 2012.
