Our use case requires deployment of an alfresco instance local to each region and the documents/files produced in one region needs to be replicated to other instances (some delay is acceptable). Is it possible to , more importantly, a good practice to have cluster over WAN ? If not, what are other options if to replicate documents across multiple instances that are not part of a cluster ?

thanks,

-sudhir

No its not generally a good idea to cluster over a WAN although there are people who do it and it will work for certain use-cases. In particular some sort of offiste backup node could work well.

You could also look at using the Transfer Service which is built for the gegraphical distribution use-case.
