I think that it means that the component is obsolete. This could be for example because the mobile stuff has its own project.

I think its unlikely that they will be fixed, they are certainly not on the priority list. But have not yet been cleaned out.

However we can say that if its a "real" issue then it should not be assigned to a deprecated component.

Thanks for your quick reply, but I'm afraid I'm still confused.

There are two components called 'ZZ_Deprecated(was_Share)' and 'Share UI'. (The first has around 400 unresolved issues, the second around 100).

So are you saying 'Share' is obsolete, and the first components 400 unresolved issues are unlikely to be fixed? What's the second component about then?

Sam.

N.B. Presumably the same applies to the other 'ZZ_Deprecated' components, e.g. Activiti is obsolete too? Full list of components: https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/ALF?selectedTab=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.project%3Acomponents-panel

These are obsolete components in JIRA. Nothing more, nothing less.

In the examples you mention above Activiti has its own Issue tracking system and alfresco specific bits go under Workflow.
Equally the Share component is obsolete, there are more specific categories such as Share Framework and Document Library.

I've no idea why these obsolete categories exist, It seems to me that someone is part way through cleaning out old junk.
