4.2.b Document Viewer Issues and Email Invites.

Hello,I've been adamantly getting the Community 4.2.a, and now b, installed and ready to go for production. For whatever reason, however, the document preview isn't working correctly. It pretty much truncates the entire preview except of the top part. I can see the document perfectly in full screen

A number of problems with document preview in the out-of-the-box installed configuration have been brought to our attention. You should find this much improved in 4.2.b which is available now.

I'm sorry to tell, but the problem with document preview still exists in a fresh installed vanilla Alfresco 4.2.b CE (installed using the linux installer on a Debian system, no modifications, default settings). Preview of *.doc, *.docx, *.xls is not visible until user clicks the "full screen" option. Looks like the same as it was with Alfresco 4.2.a. So the work-around is: tell users to click full screen.

Also e-mail invite doesn't work, if the invited user doesn't exist in Alfresco yet. What happens is described in the previous post. Work-around: create new users first.

Thank you for the responses. I definitely appreciate it. I'm hoping the issues with document preview will become resolved, but I can make the work around work.

With regard to the email invites, I created a test user within Alfresco. I noticed that on the html email template, there is an "if" statement that calls for username and password. Is there a way to send credentials to the private site through this? Or rather, it would be fine if they were taken to the login screen when clicking the link, log in with the given credentials, then the user is taken to the site. I guess the question would be whether I should go back to the 4.0 until these have been resolved?

Hello.

My installation is alfresco 4.2.b in ubuntu 10.04 lts server.

I have the same issue with the viewer in some of our computers. I have check all client components, browser version, flashplayer, etc, and the problem persists.

In the server log not appears any related message, and the browser console of an ok computer is the same with the computer with the issue.
