Google Docs in 4.0.e ?

HI all,Does anyone know if the Google Docs AMP released with 4.2.x will work with 4.0.e ? If not, is there another in existence?Cheers,Trevor

Hi Trevor, no the new Google Docs integration will not work against Alfresco 4.0. The repository AMP has a number of dependencies that are not present in that version, and the Share AMP makes use of some of the newer extensibility features that are likely not supported in 4.0.

if you check the 4.0 docs, you should see information on the original v1 of the integration. This is a different implementation from the AMP-based v2 but it is included in the core product and can be enabled without too much difficulty.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I've successfully migrated from 4.0.e to 4.2.b and using the Edit in Google Docs features with good success.

When I get a chance to make my regression path I'll go looking for the v1 AMP.

Okay, it looks like I'll need to be able to fall back to my stable 4.0.e from 4.2.b. There seem to be some things that need to be worked out in 4.2.b before I'll use this in production.

Do you have a line on the v1 of Google Docs for 4.0.x ?

See http://docs.alfresco.com/4.1/topic/com.alfresco.enterprise.doc/concepts/at-googledocs-integration.html and http://docs.alfresco.com/4.1/topic/com.alfresco.enterprise.doc/concepts/library-item-google-intro.html. It should work for 4.0.e, however I notice the admin docs have an 'Enterprise Only' flag on them, so you may need to set the googledocs.username, googledocs.password googledocs.googleeditable.enabled properties manually in your alfresco-global.properties.

Note that as I said earlier this is a completely different implementation from the v2 instance, so this does not apply to 4.2.
