The client machine is Windows 7 runnung Xming and PuTTy. When I start the installer, I see the splash screen, but nothing happens after that. I have tested the basic X11 installation by running xclock, which runs fine. Any ideas on how to solve this issue?</SPAN><BR /><BR /><SPAN>Another piece of information that might be useful is that my connection to the remote machine is over a VPN. I tried the exact same install with another remote machine which doesn't require a VPN connection and the install indeed moves forward after the splash screen (I see a dialog to choose a language).
