If you want to use remote storage then you'll need to mount the storage locally - for example, on linux you could mount remote storage over CIFS (SMB), then you'll be able to refer to that storage in the properties file, e.g.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;dir.root=/mnt/alfcontent&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>

      <description>Hi,I have a little question about the installation. If I want store all the contents &amp;amp; spaces into one server out of the Alfresco installaton instead "alf_data" directory, can I put the next value?dir.root==ftp:\\200.100.0.1\alf_data‍Thanks</description>

      <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;No.&amp;nbsp; Dir root needs to be a file path, it is not a URL.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;And there's a typo (its not ==)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;You can however mount a filesystem and then specify the file path to the mounted file system.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
