we are looking too to a Sharepoint alternative, and one of the most needed feature for us is the custom lists and views, that I must say in Sharepoint are very advanced.
As already said discussions and sharing are well supported trough Alfresco Share.

I have played a bit with the dynamic lists of Alfresco Share but found out that they are very limited: from what I have seen it's not possible to create customized views (like Calendar, etc) or reports out-of-the-box. Even the creation of the lists itself involves the editing of an xml file (correct me if I'm wrong).

Is there a plug-in or add-on that offers that functionalities and permits the non-tech people of my society to use and create dynamic lists as well?

It looks like the new Datalists feature is an attempt to duplicate the SharePoint Lists tool, but it appears I have to choose from a few pre-built list types instead of being able to truly create my own list with custom fields. Is that correct?
