(yup, I'm currently on holiday, so sorry for the delay)

The Modeler is derived from the latest version of Oryx. In fact, when building the Modeler, the oryx part is pulled from the oryx repo.

We have indeed chosen to first offer the barebone modeler. In the meanwhile, the Signavio team was going to restructure their repositories and make it easier for us to build and contribute to the Modeler code. This has been done since of this week, so expect to see new features in the coming releases.

Thanks.

Again answering my own question. I suspect the project lead is on vacation at present.

It appears that the SIGNAVIO Modeler is derived from oryx. modeler, a hosted version of which is available for free here:

http://oryx-project.org/backend/poem/repository

The SIGNAVIO Modeler included with Activiti seems to have much reduced functionality (perhaps because it is based on an older snapshot?). For example ability to export to various formats including BPMN 2.0 DI XML format that I seek, is available in ORYX but not in SIGNAVIO Modeler. Also missing is support for newer model features like choreography related elements.

Could someone from the dev team kindly could let me know what is the status and roadmap for the SIGNAVIO Modeler that is integrated with Activiti?

First of all, i want to congratulate all the team for this excelent project. In our researching team in the University we have big expectations about this project.

I'm starting to make some diferents testing about 'activiti'. But i have i question?

Are you working in add a plugin to the SIGNAVIO Modeler that allow us to set attributes like this : <userTask activiti:form="com/camunda/approve.form" />

My approach is that you should put other properties box on the signavio modeler. This box only will have 'activiti' attributes. By this way you can save 2 diferent files. One according with the bpmn standard and other with 'activiti' capabilities.

By this way you dont need to add manualy attributes to the bpmn.xml in eclipse.

Are you working in something like this?

Thank you very much.

We're not currently working on it, but it is definitely on our roadmap to figure out how we are to support our custom extensions in the Modeler.

Yes and no. Running straight in the Modeler will not happen soon (and is also not trivial, ie what about Java delegation classes, etc).

But with Activiti Cycle, we are providing a way to make the transition from the Modeler -> Eclipse -> Java project very very smooth!
