    <description>&lt;HTML&gt;&lt;HEAD&gt;&lt;/HEAD&gt;&lt;BODY&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Hello,&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I am currently in the process of migrating from Alfresco 1.2.1 Community to Alfresco War 1.3&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I was just wondering what all i should do:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;1. backup mysql&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;2. copy alf_data &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;3. migrate mysql using the script&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I am just not sure what to do with the alf_data directory. Where exactly should I put this directory for the alfresco war installation.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Any help would be appreciated. You don't have to remove it during the migration. If the migration succeeds, you will not have to copy the alf_data back.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;So, as you said, you have to do those three steps:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;OL style="list-style-type:decimal;"&gt;&lt;LI&gt;backup db&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;LI&gt;backup alf_data&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;LI&gt;run sql migration script&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;I also recommend to clean the web server directories before deploying the new war file. If you are using tomcat, remove these files/folders&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;OL style="list-style-type:decimal;"&gt;&lt;LI&gt;%tomcat%\webapps\alfresco.war&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;LI&gt;%tomcat%\webapps\alfresco&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;LI&gt;%tomcat%\work\Catalina\localhost\alfresco&lt;/LI&gt;&lt;/OL&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Maybe the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;%tomcat%\work\Catalina\localhost\alfresco&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; looks different at you machine. So, delete the alfresco directory somewhere under your &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;EM&gt;%tomcat\work&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt; directory.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
