Change the Alfresco access URL

Hi friends,I'm currently running Alfresco Community 3.4.d on Ubuntu 10.04 server. Alfresco accessing URL is http://www.xyz.com/alfresco. I want change the Alfresco access URL to http://www.xyz.com. If anybody have did the same thing, could you please help me to do this task. http://www.xyz.com/alfr

Hey I see what you are trying to accomplish here.

I have a possible solution to it. I have done the same thing for changing the links sent through email.

What you need to do is download Astrogrep searching software.

copy and paste one of the alfresco URLs into that search this will find out from which file alfresco generates the URL

once you have that file, open it in notepad++ and edit it the way you want.

Thanks for the reply. Do I have to use csv source code or do I have to use installed one ?

I have currently installed Alfresco Community 3.4.d. So if I have to use installed files what are the directory I have to select (Eg: /alfresco/all files and folders or alfresco/tomcat/all files and folders

Have you trie to rename alfresco.war to ROOT.war? Delete any directories in webapps named alfresco and ROOT before you do that.

If all you want to achieve is that users when browsing http://www.xyz.com is redirected, try placing a file in webapps/ROOT named index.jsp with content

   <head>

Thanks for your reply.

I have mount my /alfresco web directory to ROOT level. Now Alfresco content management area working fine. However now I can't login to the /share area. What should I do for this issue?

The normal way to do this is to put a web server in front of tomcat. Then you can map URLs as you see fit.

When try to login to Share;
Warning is :

[size=150]Failed to Login[/size]
The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication details have not been recognized.

To alter a URL you would use a web server and configure how the URLs get mapped. So the web server faces the users and delegates to tomcat.

This is the web server you would normally use for tomcat http://httpd.apache.org/

That will also stop users needing to know about the 8080 port number.

As for your second issue.
If you move the repo then you need to change the configuration of share to tell it where the repo is.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I have change http://abc.com/alfresco to http://abc.com.

If I move the repo (http://abc.com/alfresco -> http://abc.com), what are the configuration should I change to access share? I tried to locate it and observer by using messages (Network packet capture and analyzed) also. But I didn't find the configurations.

If you could please give me the way of how to configure configuration of share to tell it where the repo is ?
