Unwanted folders getting created when a new folder is create

While creating a new folder in /share some unwanted folders(which are already present) are getting created inside the newly created folder and inside this folder the link of the parent folders are coming. Once we click this it goes to the parent folder.Also we checked the presence of these folder in

what is the name of folders get created? also is there any rule created on the space.?

Intially we had a folder named ABC027-2012-0011ABCDEFGInt.00_old. Now we created the folder ABC027-2012-0011ABCDEFGInt.00. Automatically all the contents inside the old folder got copied into this new folder.
In the old folder we had a folder names 'Close' and this folder did not have any contents. But in new folder inside 'Close' folder the parent folder structure were replicated.
Also we dont have any rules created on the space
