I found the issue. The problem is with port 6060. I am using a lenovo T61 which has a built in service running on 6060. I disabled this process and restarted alfresco server and it worked.
Finally i was able to find a solution, but i wanted to check if there is any way of changing this port 6060 to something else?

I changed the quickr server port on custom-lotus.properties in Alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/extension and everything looks good now.
