Hello:

Ubuntu 10.04 LTS / alfresco-community-3.4.b-installer-linux-x32.bin
Well, we'd like to use a remote db on another host but during this install I see two options for the "Database Installation" portion of the install.
[2] I wish to use an existing database (can this be a remote server and what do I need to do to facilitate that preference?)

I have searched and researched this board and google'd to death, but perhaps I'm using the wrong search words?
and after 7 failed installs using PPAs, I decided to just re-install with the bin file.

Our goal is to automate the install and use remote dbs on same 192. or 10. networks.
I know that alfresco-community-3.4.b-installer-linux-x32.bin has an optionfile parameter I can utilize
and that will be my next post.

I would appreciate your guidance on this issue.

Edit:
I see this post that offers some hope: http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=36322#p105983

Edit:
the document Alfresco_Community_3_4_a_Linux_Simple_Install.pdf says it's an embedded MySQL db.
so my question remains, can this be a remote server?

Thank you for your time.
