Hello,I wanted to know what are the ISO standards and protocols/technicals standards adhered to by Alfresco because I can not find information.For example, Alfresco must surely respected ISO 15836 Dublin Core metadata?I also understand Alfresco is ISO 9001?Sincerely,

That will be a rather long list, perhaps you could narrow down such a broad question.

And of course you could use alfresco as part of your efforts to adhere with ISO 9001 "Quality management systems "

Hello mrogers,
Yes I can refine my question : I regularly meet several ISO standards, which seem important for policy makers, such as:

ISO 14721 - Open archival information system - Reference model
ISO 15489 - "Records management"
ISO 15836 - The Dublin Core metadata
ISO 27001 - Information technology - Security techniques
ISO 32000 - PDF/A (or ISO 19005)
etc…

And I wonder if Alfresco and its modules comply with these laws, and in this case, if there are official documents proving it.

No - that's not right. Just your question is broad and difficult to answer. And in some cases the standard relates to how alfresco is used (ISO 9001), or configured (ISO 15836) rather than anything intrinsic.

Alfresco is built on standards, there will be hundreds of them that apply, if not thousands. Yes I think it could be thousands. But given that reading even one standard in detail is hard, there won't be a long list of them anywhere. Maintaining that list would be onerous given that the speed that global standards evolve.

alfresco rm is dod5015 certified, there's a piece of paper signed by the us military.
alfresco works actively on the OASIS cmis standards.
Email rfc822, RFC 2822
FTP rfc959
WebDav RFC2518 - litmus tests.

Half a dozen to get the ball rolling.

Just had a quick browse of the ISO standards. Here's another on geo tagging ISO_6709, that we support. I could have listed the way we encode locales as well. However, much as I enjoy looking at some of the important things that ISO has standardised there are over 16 thousand of them to sift through.

Hi Tag.

Each of these standards probably requires a separate topic here, but let me just answer generally from my perspective. I am not an Alfresco employee and I do not speak from the official standpoint, but have long business experience with he company and product.

Records management is a topic that is covered by many standards, each applicable somewhat territorially and each costing money to certify for. Alfresco has certified for the largest of them DOD.5015.2. They did not do so for Moreq, which was a smart move from my perspective (even though the customers sometimes ask) since Moreq is a moving target and losing. momentum.

PDF/A has many forms and sub standards, but I really do not see how Alfresco would be certified or not certified on this topis. Alfresco does have a transformation engine that does format exchange, but this would probably mean that Alfresco inc. should somehow "prove" that they are compliant with all these formats, not just PDF/A. A tough job and a wasted effort if you ask me.

To sum things up, Alfresco is competing globally and there are literally thousands of standards and certifications available, e.g. Slovenia has a certification for all archival systems, EU has Moreq, Croatia has SPEUP and 100s others are available.

When these certifications become show stoppers for sales&implementation, then it would be smart to go through them.
