Hi,
I"m aware that Module deployment is a new feature for Alfresco 4.0. But we currently have 3.4.5 Enterprise and would like to extends some of share's webscripts and deploy changes as modules in order to basically add content to a Share page. I've found examples of doing so for 4.0 here (http://blogs.alfresco.com/wp/ddraper/2011/07/22/how-to-add-content-to-an-alfresco-share-page/), but I was wondering if there is any way to do the same in the 3.4.x branch?

Customizing Share got a lot easier in 4.0, but there is a lot you can do with the 3.4 branch.

It sounds like your questions are mostly around how to deploy your changes in a way that keeps your code separate from Alfresco code so that you can maintain and upgrade your solution.

I updated this wiki page with the latest information on this topic:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Packaging_And_Deploying_Extensions

Cheers!
