Thank you for your interest.

At this moment, it is not possible to explicitly specify the version label in the Web Client.

However, in the Repository we do have a component which is responsible for determining the next version label when an item is versioned. We want to make this component pluggable to allow customisation of this process.

With the above support, it would be possible to allow the editing of the version label (or an alternative custom attribute) in the Web Client, which is picked up by the Repository to set the next version label.

Hello,

Does anyone know if there's a way to achieve this with latest version 2.9 ?
Does one of the Alfresco APIs allow to update a document with an older version than the most recent version ? I have a client who would like to be able to insert a document as version 1.2 even if version 1.3 already exists.
