At least that's what the error message says:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;PRE class="language-none line-numbers"&gt;&lt;CODE&gt;javax.naming.CommunicationException: openldap.domain.com:389 [Root exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: openldap.domain.com]&lt;SPAN class="line-numbers-rows"&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;‍&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/CODE&gt;&lt;/PRE&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Is there any other file that could overwrite your settings for the "ldap1" provider? Try renaming the directory and with it the ID of the subsystem in the chain. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Or try grepping for 'ldap.example.com', perhaps there's an additional definition in the file somewhere.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;HTH.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
