Ok My install was done with the Linux Setup Wiz for Alfresco community ver 4.2.c on CentOS 6.3Also I installed Alfresco a a service so it starts up when the OS doeshere are the steps I followed1) downloaded RM-2.0.1-147.zip 2) Uncompressed and placed the RM-2.0.1-147.amp on the /opt/alfresco-4.2.c/a

I am having the same issue… no response yet. Nothing in the log that indicates a problem.

Here is what I posted in another thread.

I am having the same issue–The dashlet does not appear after restarting Alfresco. The installation went well.. alfresco.log file shows that the records management module is starting, but does not indicate completion as other items in the log do. Help would be appreciated.

DCUS-IT i managed to see the dashlet now somehow ill tell what i did and pray it works for you too cuz im not too convinced.
delete all .war backups or move em away from the webapps folder.

make sure u have the rm-2.0.1-147.amp file in the amps folder and the rm-share-2.0.1.amp in the amps_share folder.

go to the bin folder and execute ./apply_amps.sh -nobackup -force ro reinstall modules

whe n checking the dashlets switch the lay outs until the record management config dashlet pops up ( in the admin dashboard )

i know it all sounds fuzzy and honestly it is i hope works for you man !

Hi All,

The missing RM dashlet seems to be an issue lots of people are struggling with.

To help me get to the bottom of it could people chime in with the version of alfresco community they are seeing the issue with. It seems like it is a 4.2.c related issue. Have people also seen the issue using 4.2.b?

You may be interested/relieved to know that in the upcoming 2.1 release the dashlet will be gone and you will be able to create an RM site using the standard create site dialog! In the mean time though I'll try and get to the bottom of the issue.

same problem here using 4.2.c
It seems all goes well during the installation, but no dashlet shows.

I came back about a week later, didn't do naything I remember and now the dashlet is there

I followed the below steps for installing the RM module on Share and Explorer through MMT tool:
1. downloaded "alfresco-rm-2.0.2-171.amp" and "alfresco-rm-2.0.2-171.amp" from the support portal.
2. install the RM module on your Alfresco installtion using the MMT tool:
navigate to the "alfresco-mmt.jar" location within your application server folder(e.g.: tomcat).
command for installing module:
java -jar alfresco-mmt.jar install <ampFile_Location> <warFile_Location> -force;

Do the same for alfresco and share amps.
3. you can check whether the RM module is properly installed on the alfresco.war and share.war using the below command:
—> java -jar alfresco-mmt.jar list alfresco.war;

—> java -jar alfresco-mmt.jar list share.war;
If properly done then RM module will be listed in the output.

4. Post this you need to restart the application server. Before restart you can delete the share and alfresco folders within the webapps folder, once restarted the the respective war files will unzip and re-create these folders once again.
5. Once the server is up, you can Add the Records Management dashlet to your Dashboard and enable Records Management site.
