Why Alfresco (DM and WCM) still using the JSF version 1.1?I think if they upgrade that to the latest version then its UI will be improved. There are more components available in the latest version. Is there any perticular reason they stick to version 1.1?and also curious to know how difficult is that

According to Paul Hampton [as discussed in webinar on Jan27 - What's New in Alfresco Enterprise 3.4] the more focus is now given to enhance "Alfresco Share" as compared to Alfresco Explorer @ Alfresco.

JSF vs SURF (Spring SURF now). I think SURF is going to win the race.

We recently upgraded to myfaces to 1.1.8 and that caused enough trouble. So I think we will be staying with 1.1 until there's good solid reasons to upgrade.
