Hi,
I installed Alfresco Community 4.0.d on my DEV environment, and I found an alfresco user with pwd admin. Try with this.
In order to manage PostGre I would suggest to use pgAdmin which can be found here http://www.pgadmin.org/
Try to establish a connection with the credentials (alfresco/admin)

It is located in "alfresco-global.properties" file. Path to this file is alfresco-X.X.d/tomcat/shared/classes/
